To walk through the ruins of Ancient Rome is already a moving experience — but to do so with Sylvia was something we’ll carry with us forever.
From the Colosseum to the Palatine Hill and down into the Roman Forum, Sylvia didn’t just explain what we were seeing — she invited us to imagine, to feel what it might have been like to live here, centuries ago. Her knowledge is vast, but it’s her delivery that makes it unforgettable. Thoughtful. Poetic. Grounded. As we stood in the shade of towering columns, she spoke not only about emperors and battles, but about the daily lives of the people who once walked these same stones. She gave voice to women, to children, to merchants and thinkers — reminding us that history isn’t just about monuments, but about people. My husband and I often travel to explore ancient sites, but this felt different. More personal. More complete. Sylvia gave us more than a tour. She gave us a vision of what was, and a reverence for what remains.
